Hi everyone! How's your Christmas?

We just had our Flint 5 bbq few days ago at Pasir Ris Park. It was a successful and fun BBQ. =)

Ok I shall talk straight to the point.

We will be having our Future Division General Meeting (FD GM) and Sec. 1 orientation on…

4^th January 2009, Sunday @ SSA HQ ICA

On the very same day and venue, we will also have our very first Sec.1 Orientation Programme in the morning at HQ basement.

This will consider as our FLINT 5 project, which means that the whole FLINT 5 people needs to be involved in helping out and plan the sec. 1 orientation.

So let me inform here some things that we will be doing on the day itself.

The orientation will start at 9am (the timing will be further confirmed on a later date).

We will be expecting at around 300+ sec.1 students (provided if each of every sec. 1 students from PD come). So it's considered as a big group of people. That's why we need the help of many people from us. ^^

Mainly, we will be in charge of arranging them into smaller groups by their FD zone and importantly, their school region. For example, we will group students whose schools are located near each other, like Sengkang sec, compassvale sec, nan chiau high, north vista all under one group. Then maybe yio chu kang sec, ang mo kio sec, deyi sec etc. The reason for this is coz FD wanna start a buddy system where by we will be informed which sec. 1 students are studying in schools near your region. We will be like their big brothers and sisters guiding them through their sec. 1 life, as well as get them involved in our FD activities as they are new to FD. So once we get all the details of their schools, we will pair you all up with the sec. 1 students.

Secondly, we also have to in charge of the Ice breaking games. So far we had decided to play 2 games. Time limit for ice breaking is 30mins including briefing and introducing to one another. We will be using the ice breaking games that we played during our flint outing, which is "concentration" and one more new ice breaking game (there's no name for this game yet.. xP) We will play this game within the group itself. For each group of students, we will need 2 flint people to join in them.. to facilitate the ice breaking. Each group will have about 15 students, depend on how many students are coming.

Thirdly, we will also have to conduct a dialogue with the students. There will be 2 dialogues. The topic for the 1^st dialogue is for those sec. 1 students to ask question regarding FD and also their new secondary school life. We also will share our sch experience like choosing cca and coping with so many subjects etc. The group now will be split according to your school region and also we will be attached to the group according to our school region too. The 2^nd dialogue will be conducted in your FD zone, together with your FD zone adult ICs.

So ya, to conclude right, we need every flint 5 people to come down on the 4 jan 2009. The orientation will lasts the whole morning, followed by the FD GM in the afternoon. On the FD GM, we will be receiving our graduation certificate, to say that we had passed this flint course and we will be appointed as Student IC (SIC) in your zone. =D cool right?
