FD GM + Sec. 1 Orientation + FLINT 5 Graduation

Hi everyone! How's your Christmas?
We just had our Flint 5 bbq few days ago at Pasir Ris Park. It was a successful and fun BBQ. =)
Ok I shall talk straight to the point.
We will be having our Future Division General Meeting (FD GM) and Sec. 1 orientation on…
4th January 2009, Sunday @ SSA HQ ICA
On the very same day and venue, we will also have our very first Sec.1 Orientation Programme in the morning at HQ basement.
This will consider as our FLINT 5 project, which means that the whole FLINT 5 people needs to be involved in helping out and plan the sec. 1 orientation.
So let me inform here some things that we will be doing on the day itself.
The orientation will start at 9am (the timing will be further confirmed on a later date).
We will be expecting at around 300+ sec.1 students (provided if each of every sec. 1 students from PD come). So it's considered as a big group of people. That's why we need the help of many people from us. ^^
Mainly, we will be in charge of arranging them into smaller groups by their FD zone and importantly, their school region. For example, we will group students whose schools are located near each other, like Sengkang sec, compassvale sec, nan chiau high, north vista all under one group. Then maybe yio chu kang sec, ang mo kio sec, deyi sec etc. The reason for this is coz FD wanna start a buddy system where by we will be informed which sec. 1 students are studying in schools near your region. We will be like their big brothers and sisters guiding them through their sec. 1 life, as well as get them involved in our FD activities as they are new to FD. So once we get all the details of their schools, we will pair you all up with the sec. 1 students.
Secondly, we also have to in charge of the Ice breaking games. So far we had decided to play 2 games. Time limit for ice breaking is 30mins including briefing and introducing to one another. We will be using the ice breaking games that we played during our flint outing, which is "concentration" and one more new ice breaking game (there's no name for this game yet.. xP) We will play this game within the group itself. For each group of students, we will need 2 flint people to join in them.. to facilitate the ice breaking. Each group will have about 15 students, depend on how many students are coming.
Thirdly, we will also have to conduct a dialogue with the students. There will be 2 dialogues. The topic for the 1st dialogue is for those sec. 1 students to ask question regarding FD and also their new secondary school life. We also will share our sch experience like choosing cca and coping with so many subjects etc. The group now will be split according to your school region and also we will be attached to the group according to our school region too. The 2nd dialogue will be conducted in your FD zone, together with your FD zone adult ICs.
So ya, to conclude right, we need every flint 5 people to come down on the 4 jan 2009. The orientation will lasts the whole morning, followed by the FD GM in the afternoon. On the FD GM, we will be receiving our graduation certificate, to say that we had passed this flint course and we will be appointed as Student IC (SIC) in your zone. =D cool right?
just to update on Friday's x'mas party & some other upcoming events . well , for those who're coming for the x'mas party which is held on the 26th dec . Pls note that there will be a gift exchange programme , whereby everyone would get a gift ranging from $5-$10 . Nothing less than 5 or more than 10 , so as to be fairly equal . & to those who might not be going on the 26th , but had paid the money , pls let us know latest by tmr night (25th Dec) , so that changes could be made . & also to those who have not paid , pls remember to bring $6 on that day . F.Y.I , this bbq is a free roam event . it's up to u how u want to enjoy , but pls be aware that safety is always FIRST ! that's all about Friday's event .

HELLO PEEPS ! just to update on the previous post . there's like about more than 20 people , almost to 30 whom would be goin for the bbq . such great news yeahs ? but still , we're looking forward to more who could come . anyway , i wanna thank those who've paid & will be coming for the xmas party on the 26th . THANKS ALOT ! hope u guys would enjoy urself on that day , & F.Y.I , it's not a chalet so there's no bed if u're staying overnight . but tents might be provided if u guys are tonning . that's all , anything pls refer to the bottom or ask either me , jianzhong , Yeefong or the rest who're incharge . (: & anyway , it's 4 more days to christmas , so shall be wishing all , a MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR in advanced ! (:

For those who are going for the post xmas bbq , pls do let ur oic(s) know asap , so that i could make plans for that day . & please also pass $6 to either me , Yeefong , brendan or jianzhong if u are coming . if can , latest by this sat/sun (20-21 dec) .
Currently there's only 3 people who've paid the money & will be going . we're estimating to about 50 pax , but would be happy if more could come . THE MORE THE MERRIER ! ^^ so do let us know asap yeahs .

Time: 6pm - 8pm++
This outing will be a potluck cum bbq cum xmas party. If you are going please bring food or drinks. ( We dunwan anyone to be starving)
Confirm with your Oic's or 2 ic's if you are going and what type of food/drink you are bringing by 18th december.
P.S If you wana stay longer or overnight it is up to you. But please get your parents permission first!

Hi. Here's another announcement. Ghee Han needs about 10 people from Flint 5 to help in packing the stuffs needed for the Marina Bay Countdown '09 Project. Date: 6 December 2008 Time: 1000hrs Venue: TBSC (Telok Blangah Soka Centre), take any bus from harbourfront station, outside Harbourfront Centre and alight at 3rd stop.
